Scope and content

Letter from William Donelan, 19 Blessington St, Dublin to his father, Woodquay, Tuam, thanking him for the £15. He writes of James French, who has married a Miss Lynch, whom he describes as "...old and ugly and has £100 a year and £3000 (Don't you wish he may get it)". Says that he saw him a week ago in a fine carriage "with five very flash looking girls" on Parliament St. Complains about John Daly who arrived with the money eventually, they having missed each other several times, and says that he was loath to send so unreliable a messenger. He states that he would like to go home for Christmas if possible.
