Letter to Canon Hayes from Paul G. Hanney of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, newly enlisted in the United States Air Force at Sampson Air Force Base, New York. Hanney asks Canon Hayes to give his name to Salesian priests who may be able to assists him in choosing college courses, and that he plans on using some of his service pay to buy a farm based on Canon Hayes' recommendation in a previous letter. He wishes to learn more about farming in Tipperary, and asks if young people are still leaving Ireland in great numbers.
