Letter from Farrell, Dept. of Management and General Studies, College of Technology, Belfast, to Boyle, thanking Boyle for materials received relating to Special Powers Act and Restoration of Order Act and discussing his research on Northern Ireland in the early 1920s. Farrell goes on to discuss in detail items such as "Things are distinctly grim here. . ." and mentions the shooting of Ronnie Bunting (formally of People's Democracy) and his wife Suzanne, and other former People's Democracy leader who was shot. Farrell continues: "There is a lot of tension here over the H-Block hunger strike as well. The British trick concession has only aggravated the situation and greatly embittered the prisoners and their relatives. . . it will be a long and bitter struggle. . . ". Farrell also mentions a new publication by P. Buckland based on now closed files at Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, (PRONI).
