Letter to Canon Hayes from Michael Egan, Granard, County Longford, following on his previous letter of 23 December 1956 (see P134/12/1/1/11/34). He asks Canon Hayes to inform his predecessor, Father Mark Mimnagh, of the true financial situation of the Muintir na Tíre hall and of the various claimants against its erection. He notes that ten guarantors who had promised Father Mark £50 each have either not paid or reneged entirely. Egan also notes that 'there are some very suitable teenagers, of both sexes, in this small parish who could work in any suitable industry that might be founded in the hall' and 'at all events, we shall depend on you and Muintir na Tíre for a solution.'
