Hayes writes "I am more moved than you can imagine by you [considering] I act as a trustee for the Human Rights Centre. . . I have thought deeply about it and conclude that I should decline at present. . ." Hayes continues to explain his reasons, such as "I might do more effective work where I am. . ."
