Letter from Dr. Adams to D Donelan, Sylane, Tuam, stating that William “… is determined not to expose himself to publick disgrace” in the examinations. He state that he is competent enough, but would not have the minute knowledge of anatomy necessary for the exams. He tells him of the case of a young man who was rejected by the examiners but will get the diploma “… from some other College that is less particular, he was the son of one of the medical men there”. He ends by setting William has the ability “but industry cannot be communicated”.
