Letter to Father Hayes from Daniel M. Ryan, Maynooth, regarding 'the Sandymount incident'. He states that according to rumours, 'Fr. Ryan, a very agreeable old man was treated very badly. No permission was asked of him to hold a meeting, neither he nor any of his curates were present at the meeting when held, and the meeting was held outside the parish.' The rumours also state that Father Hayes asked for permission from Archbishop McQuaid to hold the meeting and was denied. Soon after the meeting, McQuaid condemned 'certain kinds of movements', which Father Larry Redmond took to include Muintir na Tíre but the other clergy did not as there was no specific reference to it. Ryan also talks about an upcoming lecture from Father Hayes, and notes that there is interest in Hayes speaking at Queen's University of Belfast.
