Materials pertaining to the case filed by Latif Bulut against the Republic of Turkey with the European Commission of Human Rights (referred to internally within the Kurdish Litigation Project as Case 174) regarding the disappearance of his son Mustafa and nephews Ekrem, Ramazan, Fahri, and Ali following their being taken into custody by security forces in the village of Esenli, Lice District, Diyarbakır Province, on 13 May 1994. The village of Esenli was destroyed during the raid with all villagers forced to leave and their homes razed. Materials include Latif Bulut’s statements made to the Kurdish Human Rights Project (2 October-2 December 1994, 6pp); Amnesty International Urgent Action publications calling for action regarding disappeared families in Lice District including the Buluts (19 May -10 June 1994, 4pp); Bulut’s letter of 2 October 1994 authorising Kevin Boyle and Françoise Hampson to be his legal representatives (2pp); and a report on the destruction of villages in Tunceli (Dersim) District (27 March 1995, 10pp).
