Materials pertaining to a letter sent from Johanna Kelly in Vaughan, Upper Canada to her father, Michael Gleeson in Newtown, County Tipperary in 1846. The series contains typed transcripts of the letter, one with Kerby A. Miller's notes and annotations and various photocopied pages from Minutes of Evidence Before Select Committee on Colonisation from Ireland, in particular remarks by Francis Spaight in 1847, which also includes a published transcript of the Kelly letter.
