Letter from Jane Ormsby, sister-in-law to Thomas Ormsby of Ballinamore, Co. Mayo. Her husband "Kitt desires me to write as he is not at present able to hold a pen, having a tremer [sic] in his hand ..." The letter is all to do with the family financial affairs that her husband was involved in, how he hopes to pay them back all the money he owes and his great hurt "that two executions should be taken out against him". She refers to "the Colonel [Anthony] when he was declared a purchaser in July 1819 for £4100" and "in the spring of 1820 when he [Kitt] was proceeded against 15 bankers failed ..." She concludes "as my poor part the Almighty has brought me over many troubles and great exertions but I do think this is the greatest I ever felt ..."
