Letter and membership cards for Stephen J Barrett for the Kilmore Branch of the Irish National League. Founded in October 1882 by Charles Stewart Parnell it campaigned for Home Rule. It was the main base of support for the Irish Parliamentary Party in the 1880s, with over 1000 on the island. In 1890 it was subjected to the Parnellite Split, finally re-uniting in 1901 under John Redmond.
