Scope and content
Softbound copy of Koos, Greg, ed. (2000), Irish Emigrants In McLean County, Illinois (Bloomington, Illinois: McLean County Historical Society), a book presenting account of the Irish American experience in the area of Bloomington, Illinois. The book was published in conjunction with the 28 April 2000 dedication of a monument at the Funk's Grove, Illinois cemetery marking the mass grave of over 50 Irish emigrant rail workers who died during the construction season of 1852-53 building the Alton and Sangamon Railroad. Included with the book is a programme from the dedication ceremony and a note: '[Kerby Miller] thinks that data in this small book may correlate with a collection of Irish emigrants' letters from McLean Co., Illinois, but he is uncertain which collection.'
