Letter from Thomas Mooney, Secretary of the Local Government Board, to John Wilson Lynch, enclosing a copy of a letter from the Local Government Board to the Clerk of the Fort Union, relating to the charge of neglect brought against John Hazell, rate collector, by John Wilson Lynch. They state that there is over £7 due from the lands, which were in the possession of John Dermody, until his eviction in 1888. and that the collector has been guilty of gross neglect in failing to gather the money. They ask that J Hazell lodge the money with the Union immediately, if not the Board of Guardians must seek his resignation.

Letter from Edward Kendall, Clifden, Co Galway to John Wilson Lynch, Rennmore, thanking him for the copy letter relating to the poor rates on John Dermody's holding, which he returns and stating that he is very pleased at the result of the investigation. He asks for the names of the representatives of James Lydon who has the grazing at Cappagh Beg, saying that he does not want to ask William Connor.

Letters and associated papers relating to the sale of Roo Demesne, Leagh North and Shanclogh, parish of Kinvarradoorus, to the tenants. These were the 3 lots of the Daly Estate purchased in 1873, by John Wilson Lynch, through the Encumbered Estates Court. The sale was negotiated with the Land Commission by J Murray Walker and George Lyster, solicitor, on John Wilson Lynch's behalf. Father Molony represented the tenants' interests. The sale of 2 holdings was delayed, that of John Dermody [see LE6/B/663-679] and that of John McInerney, who died in the autumn of 1889.

Letter from James Perry, County Surveyor's Office, Galway, to Father J Molony, stating that he has been looking at the problem of the road. He writes that nothing can be done until the Spring Assizes, but that Stephen Donohue will repair the road. He states that the law presupposes that the ratepayers would apply for repairs, and that the situation, while irregular, is common enough.
