Recites a deed of 24 Oct 1840, whereby his son Charles Anthony received £1,500 of his portion and a deed of 18 Nov 1845, whereby his son Robert received his full portion of £3,333 in Irish currency or £3,076 sterling [Robert was married on 27 Dec 1845]. By this deed £3,076, being the equivalent to a one sixth share of £20,000 in Irish currency, was appointed for the use of each of his sons Skeffington James, Bowes Richard and each of his daughters Eleanor Margaret and Rosa Gertrude Harriet and £1,576 for Charles Anthony. The remaining legacies, which could not be paid out of the sale funds, were assigned to Skeffington Daly, as trustee, to protect the sale to Lord Dunsandle. Administration of the goods and chattels, with a copy of the last will and testament annexed of the Hon Charles Daly, a Major in the 89th Regiment of Foot. Charles Daly’s will is in the form of a letter from the ‘camp before Sebastopol’ in the Crimea, dated 28 Dec 1854. Charles was very ill from ‘an attack of diarrhoea’ [he died the next day] and an associate, Arundel Hill, wrote the letter to Charles’ brother Denis Lord Dunsandle. Charles left ‘everything I have’ to be equally divided between his brothers and sisters. Administration was granted to Lord Dunsandle in the Court of Prerogative. Articles of agreement for a loan of £100,000, Denis Lord Dunsandle with the Representative Church Body. Part of the Dunsandle estate, the Lismore, Killimor and Clonmoylane estates of Lord Dunsandle were mortgaged to the Globe Insurance Co for £128,500, £100,000 was still owed and the RCB agreed to loan this sum. Deeds of mortgage and assignment were to be drawn up by August and the principle sum was not to be demanded until 20 years had past. Includes a schedule of the estates, giving townland and tenant names and the amount of rent. The total rental for the 4 estates amounted to £9,891.
