Major H Denison for the Colonel for C[ivil] R[oad] E[ngineering], Dublin Castle, acknowledging receipt of his letter and stating that there has been no change in the War Department's decision of 1881, that they bore no liability for the repiar of the road to Aughinish Tower, Co Galway. Includes copy reply letter from John Wilson Lynch, Hotel Sonnenberg, Seelisberg, Canton Ure, Suisse [Switzerland] expressing his regret that the War Department will not maintain the road and adding that as he declined to buy the tower in 1881, should an accident occur the responsibility will devolve on the War Department, asking them to reconsider the matter.
