TS letter from Boyle to McAliskey, writing from Australia, saying he cannot help from there but advises on contacting Amnesty International to attend the hearing and also to study that case under the European Convention of Human Rights. He continues in personal tone to describe his new book with Tom Hadden to which McAliskey "will disagree fundamentally" but that Boyle has maintained consistent views since 1968, he also comments on socialist and class issues in Northern Ireland. Major H Denison for the Colonel for C[ivil] R[oad] E[ngineering], Dublin Castle, acknowledging receipt of his letter and stating that there has been no change in the War Department's decision of 1881, that they bore no liability for the repiar of the road to Aughinish Tower, Co Galway. Includes copy reply letter from John Wilson Lynch, Hotel Sonnenberg, Seelisberg, Canton Ure, Suisse [Switzerland] expressing his regret that the War Department will not maintain the road and adding that as he declined to buy the tower in 1881, should an accident occur the responsibility will devolve on the War Department, asking them to reconsider the matter.
