Transcripts and abstracts of letters sent by Catholic missionaries, mainly serving in the United States, to their alma mater All Hallows College in Drumcondra, Dublin during the mid-to-late 19th century. All Hallows College was a prominent Roman Catholic missionary seminary operating from 1842 to 2016. Founded by Father John Hand to train Irish priests for global missions, the college sent over 1,500 missionaries to English-speaking countries. In 1892, administration shifted to the Vincentian Order. Also included in the series is a 1986 published history of All Hallows College and research on some of the priests featured in the letters.

Miller's original transcript of a letter from Cathy Greene, Brooklyn, to her mother, Mrs. Catherine Greene, Ballylarkin, Callan, County Kilkenny, 1 August 1884. Per Miller: 'Cathy Greene complains to her mother of her lack of correspondence in three months. Her circumstances are bad, being out of work and full of anxiety borne of intense loneliness.'
