File relates to an exhibition, "Armada 1588 - 1988" developed at the National Maritime Museum, London and the Ulster Museum, Belfast and marking four hundred years of the Armada and Ireland. Etienne Rynne provided an article relating to the Armada and Irish legacy and regarding the various Armada shipwrecks off the coast of Galway. Manuscript notes by Rynne on typescript drafts of the article note that Rynne the article to various local newspapers in the West of Ireland. Correspondence between Rynne and Laurence Finnegan, Keeper of antiquities, Ulster Museum regarding Rynne hosting the exhibition at University College Galway. (Aug 1987) and other letters discussing the content of and scheduling of the exhibition. File includes assorted flyers, booklets and ephemera from the exhibition with articles and information on the content of the exhibition.
File 2 includes manuscript research notes by Etienne Rynne, as well as index cards of notes, regarding the history and legacy of the Armada and Ireland and Galway; press cuttings of stories regarding the Armada in Ireland, including issue of "Reality: A Redemptorist Publication" (Mar 1988).
