The letter states that 'I am more and more convinced that the culture and tradition of our people have their roots deep in the soil' and 'I forgive you, therefore, that while I am responsible for the government of our people every form of help which the State can give will be given you unbegrudingly.' Attached is a first draft of points to be included in the letter.

Written statement from Garda Daniel Dineen regarding a case in which pigs were alleged to have been smuggled into Northern Ireland on 7 November 1940. Dineen writes that during the hearing of the case, he was called to give evidence. Three witnesses brought forward by the defence contradicted Dineen's statements in court, and now he fears that he will be charged with perjury.

The letter asks Father Hayes to speak to the parishioners as the parochial lands at Annacarty about to be sold in two divisions while there are 'five or six very small holders who would benefit very much is this land was given to the Land Commission and divided between same.'

An annotation from Father Hayes notes that he will have a car pick them up at Annacotty.
