Autopsy report (in Turkish with English translation) for Yakup Aktaş produced by Şevki Artar, Mardin State Prosecutor, which failed to establish a cause of death. Artar notes that 'Today at around 19.30 he was under my observation at the Investigation and Interrogation centre when he was suddenly taken ill and brought to the Mardin State Hospital and here I was informed that he had died.' No signs of trauma were reported other than heavy bruising across the upper arms and an 8 cm scar above the right scapula.

The patient file of 23 December notes weakness in his hands and atrophy of the metriceps, along with nerve damage, the lack of reflex in the triceps, and the lack of ability to move his arms backwards or extend his wrists.

Statistical analysis of legal costs and expenses awarded by the European Court of Human Rights in judgments between 1 January 1993 and 31 October 1998 prepared for the Kurdish Litigation Project. The report examines the proportions of the cases in which the Court award was less than the claimed sum without giving reasons for reducing the fees and expenses claimed, and whether it made a difference if the fees and expenses claimed were challenged by the Commission/Government or not. The report was appended to the applicant's memorial in the İzzet Çakıcı case.
