Translations of various Gendarmerie documents concerning the investigation of the death of Şerif Avşar as prepared by the Kurdish Human Rights Project. Includes a report of 21 April 1994 signed by two gendarme officers and four of the village guards who were later charged with abducting and murdering Şerif Avşar regarding the car with plate number 21AF989 used by the guards in the incident. The report states that the car had been confiscated from a man named Mehmet Koyun who was being held on suspicion of aiding and abetting the PKK and that they were given the car on 21 April 1994 so that they could return it to the man’s family. Further translated documents reveal that the guards instead took the car to Hazro town. Captain Mithat Gül concluded that the four village guards had been instructed by the Hazro gendarme commander to go to Diyarbakır to apprehend certain suspects in the car 21AF989 which was to be delivered to the provincial gendarme command. The last pages of the translation pertain to the naming of the commanding Gendarme Special Sergeant, Gültekin Seçkin, and the inability to find any records associated with that name (his name was later revealed to be named Gültekin Şütçü).
