Part of Landed Estates

He states that it would be well if Dermody and McInerney's lands could be quickly let to another tenant to ensure that the sale goes smoothly. He has heard from Mr J Quin, the Comte de Basterot's agent, that the survey is being made but the sea shore makes it very complicated.

Part of Landed Estates

Letter from J Murray Walker, commenting that the tenants have not paid the amounts due from them. He has told Connor to let them know that he will direct a solicitor on Saturday to begin legal proceedings. John Killeen has asked him to delay until May. Walker comments that 'he is one of the most respectable of the whole lot' and recommends that he is given the time. He also comments of the case of the wife of the evicted tenant, who was still in possession, he told her that she would get jail again if she meddled with the land in any way. In a postscript GH Lyster suggests that a local solicitor would be best to deal with the tenants. He is making out the title to the de Basterot estate and asks if it would be possible to look at the abstract of title John Wilson Lynch was given when buying the Duras estate.
