Letter from Laura D. Wilck, Capitol Theatre Building, 1639 Broadway, New York City addressed to Mr. Arthur Shields, Abbey Players, C/O A. Wilkes, Boston, Massachusetts. Wilck apparently an agent of some type writes 'I understand you are to be in Los Angeles about the first of March. I am enclosing letters of introduction to my agent on the coast who will represent you ably there'. The enclosed letter is addressed to Harry Wurtzel, 6417 La Mirada Avenue, Hollywood, California; Wilck writes 'Fox, Warners' Metro and Paramount are enormously interested in Mr. Shields' work but because the Players are scheduled to go on tour, little could be done in the limited time he has in New York.'

Letter from Albert M. Bender, 311 California Street, San Francisco addressed to Arthur Shields, Olympic Hotel, 230 Eddy Street, San Francisco, California. Bender writes 'It occurred to me that our friends of the Abbey Players might like to keep their invitations from the Citizens' Committee as a remembrance of their visit to San Francisco. I am allowing myself the privilege of enclosing an envelope for each of the players with two extras for emergencies.'

Madden Play Company, Paramount Building, New York City. Paul Vincent Carroll received an initial payment of $2000, and royalties of 10% of all gross weekly box office receipts. Edward Choate agreed to produce and present the play on or before the 29 October 1939
