Scope and content
First 4 pages of a speech written by Canon Hayes, in which he writes that 'democracy has been prostituted by men bearing dictatorial power' and that only Pius XI can give people true democracy. He goes on to write that 'The whole economy of the nation must revolve around agriculture. We must revitalise our nation. The attempt to do this must come from Rural Ireland itself.' He positions Muintir na Tíre as a vocational organisation concerning itself chiefly with rural Ireland.
