Scope and content

Cover letter, and four copies of the reply of Christopher T. Morris, President of the Language Freedom Movement, to a piece read by the Auditor, Mr. A. O'D. Johnstone, to the inaugural meeting of the UCG Literary and Debating Society on 25 November, 1969. The cover letter is from Mr. Morris, and is addressed to Dr. Seán MacDonagh, the Honorary Treasurer of the Society regarding travel expenses, and expressing his thanks at being invited to the event. In the address, Mr. Morris concentrates on two points: the ultimate aim of language policy, and the attitudes of ordinary people towards the language question.
