Domestic investigation documents (in Turkish and translated in English) submitted to the European Commission of Human Rights on 16 December 1997 by the Turkish Government in the case of Hüseyin Kanlıbaş v. Turkey (application number 32444/96). The case concerned the death of Ali Ekber Kanlıbaş, a local PKK leader in the Kangal region, during a Turkish military operation on 7 January 1996. The Essex team was not involved with the litigation of this case, which was handled by the Kurdish Human Rights Project; Kevin Boyle and Françoise Hampson formally withdrew as legal representatives in the case on 23 June 2000.
