Alfred Kennedy of Belfast donated the letter to E.R.R. Green, future collaborator of Kerby A. Miller. Green shared a copy of the letter with Miller from which Miller created his transcript. The original letter is now held in the E.R.R. Green collection, PRONI [reference number T3152].
