Scope and content
He writes that after consulting with Mr. R Power '... it would be impossible to make an arrangement of the rent in Beategh and Concannon thro' the intervention of Mr. Moriarty ... the one remedy left namely to apply to the Court again for a reference ...'. He asks him to get Mr. Connally to send up '... the last receipt for the rent of Cargin ...'. He emphasizes that '... It is the first moment that yours and Mrs ffrench's answers obviously agree with that of Lord Clanmorris to the bill filed by D. Daly ... any variance regarding the facts would be fatal ...'. He writes that if Daly's bill is successful, it would affect the demands of Major John Browne and Mark Browne '... which would sweep away upwards of £5,000 from her [Mrs ffrench] ... Lord Clanmorris has the Borough compensation money to protect him against Messrs Browne's claim ...'. In a postscript he writes '... all my efforts have failed in reconciling Mrs Jenings [Harriet Bingham] to return to her husband [Benjamin Jenings of Mount Jenings, Hollymount, County Mayo] althou' I must say he made a very fair offer. It would be a charity for Mrs ff[rench] to give her some advice'.
