Handwritten letter by Dan[iel] Forrest, He[nry] Hene, Richard Morgan [ ], reporting to Com[mandant] of Cork on legal status quo of the lands at Kilcoran and Garranagall, Barony of Condons, County Cork (350 acres plantation measure). Reviewing history of the lands since [1592], when it was given to Henry Pyne for 101 years; ensuing difficulty when John Bishop of Ossory was mistakenly granted the land in [1677]. Pyne had claimed the lands were "a Protestant interest" and never seized or sequestered, and is confirmed in being discharged from payment of patent rent. (With remark that the document was registered in His Majesty's and General's Office, 24 November 17[ ].
