Scope and content
Transcripts and reproductions of seven letters found in the papers of H&W Stanley Co., agents for the Rockcorry estates, County Monaghan. Four of the letters pertain to a tenant, Catherine Steenson, who eventually defaults on her rents and seeks assistance to emigrate with her family to the United States. Also present are three letters sent from the Pittsburgh area, including two despositions made by Robert Hare (formerly Magarey), an 1831 emigrant from the estate, regarding a lease he has inherited back home from his late father.
