Correspondence and other material relating to gifts given and received, and presentations made in 1991 in connection with Mary Robinson (MR)'s presidency, including correspondence between MR, John Kuhlmann, Bronx, New York, Ann Lane, Catherine Eddery, Department of the Taoiseach, Commandant (Comdt) E O'Donohoe, Superintendent of the Houses of the Oireachtas and others in relation to Kuhlman's interest in a flag presented by President John F Kennedy to the people of Ireland in 1963, a tour of Leinster House, which was arranged for him, and a coin he gave the Captain of the Guard to be presented to MR on behalf of members of the 69th infantry of New York, 15/07-25/09/1991, and including the coin itself; correspondence in Irish between MR and Riobaird Mac Gorain, Deputy Head, Gael-Linn, in relation to video tape of "Mise Éire" which he sent MR, 27/06-06/08/1991; handwritten letter from Dr Anne Primavesi, Newbury, Berkshire, England which accompanied a copy of her book "From Apocalypse to Genesis", and copy of typed response from MR, 29/08-02/09/1991; handwritten letter from Brian Parker, Councillor, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, which had accompanied a book written by local historian (possibly Parker himself), which he gifted ahead of a forthcoming visit by MR to the town, 23/09/1991; correspondence between Ms Allie Kay and Ann Lane, Personal Assistant to the President, in relation to the gifting of a handwoven fabric created by Kay, which was exhibited at the "Strands" exhibition opened by MR, and gifted by The Irish Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, 10/10/1991; letter from David Alvey which accompanied gift of book "Irish Education - The Case for Secular Reform", 10/11/1991; handwritten letter from Harry Hughes, Dal gCais Journal of Clare, which accompanied copy of 10th issue, and response from Ann Lane on behalf of MR, 11-14/11/1991; photocopy of response to Dr Bryan MacMahon, Judge, who had gifted several law textbooks he had written, 16/12/1991 .

Correspondence also includes that relating to gifts of chutney, cheeses, jewellery, mass cards and various other publications not listed above, such as poetry anthologies by female poets.
