Scope and content
Letter from George Jackson to Anthony Ormsby in which he writes that he has "Obliged your commands as far as lay within my power£ by sending off the "Buffs, 100 knapsacks, leathers for the hair and flashes for the Grenadiers, with a pack from Lamberts, two fife cases and six fifes on Thursday next", but he goes on to state that he has been unsuccessful in obtaining watch coats. He goes on "In a former letter you were so good to say you would speak to your father to get some of his tenantry to registry votes, which almost every common tenant can do ... Lord Dillon and his friends are I hear making great exertions to cooperate with Lord Tyrawley and up an opposition merely to put me to expense ... I ... entreat you to get such of your tenants to register as can do so without expense or inconvenience". Includes a postscript "The two Dalton rebel chiefs of Wicklow have been shot by the Highlanders".
