Scope and content

Handwritten drafts of what became Part III North of 'Stones of Aran: Pilgrimage'. A handwritten layout of the book's intended layout, early handwritten drafts of the chapter 'Cill Éinne: The Village'. A detailed page of handwritten notes on kelp sent to Robinson by his father Frank. Colmcille's 'A Farewell to me from Aran', handwritten by Robinson. Handwritten early drafts of the chapters that became 'Aircín: The Castle' and 'Aircín: The Pawn'.

The material is undated. Differences in the writing when compared with the published book indicate these are first or very early drafts.

Typed drafts with handwritten annotations, some pages are cut into fragments. The file does not contain the entire manuscript of what became 'North', and the pages represent drafts from different times.
