File of records relating to Thomas Kilroy's research for writing his play Double Cross. Comprising handwritten notes entitled "Bracken" and "Double Cross", and correspondence. With comments on intention and plot of the play, drafts of dialogue for two parts, notes on historical context. Including statement "...you could say, this is a play about brothers". Correspondence from J.A. Cole (biographer of William Joyce) and Hermann Rasche (giving advice on German context). Including also an excerpt from [memoirs/ wartime memories project], describing London on the outbreak of the second World War from the eyes of a Jewish child, beginning "our hearts were heavy ... walking down Old Montague Street". [This was likely also used for That Man, Bracken , which preceded the stage play.]
