File of records from the Field Day Company's production of Thomas Kilroy's The Madame MacAdam Travelling Theatre, first staged in Derry (9 - [ ] September), then touring, and guesting at The Gate Theatre for the Dublin Theatre Festival (14-26 October 1991). Directed by Jim Nolan; starring Helen Ryan, Julian Curry, Tom Radcliffe, Fionnuala Murphy. Comprising correspondence between Kilroy, his literary agents, The Field Day Theatre Company, and others; printed programmes; press reviews. Including a letter of protest signed by thirteen actors, including Helen Ryan, Kevin Flood, Tom Radcliffe, against management decisions and shortcomings that riddled the production, and in particular the decision not to take it to The Royal Court Theatre, London (9 November 1991). Also including an interview with Kilroy by Joseph Woods, Irish Stage and Screen (October/ November 1991); a letter appreciating the play by Peter Fallon, The Gallery Press.
