Detailed references to his and to Kilroy's academic, and creative writing; mentioning his wish to write a novel (18 October 1973) and offering excerpts from Reading in the Dark (not extant, 4 April 1991); detailed discussions of Kilroy's Double Cross (29 January 1985) and his The Madame MacAdam Travelling Theatre ("it's Kilrovian- it's a language and a territory..." 25 May 1990). Also, commentary on work at UCD, Kilroy's employment at UCD, UCG, and in the US. References to Derry and to Field Day; on the Field Day Anthology of Irish Writing , confessing that volume IV is "an unspeakable headache; a bad idea but a doom I have to accept now" (20 November 1992). Kilroy's draft letter to Deane written from Malaga (Spain), partly concerning the writing of [ The Big Chapel ] (15 May 1970). (7 of these are undated, but seem to range from the mid-1970s to the early 1990s.)
