File of correspondence from John Smith, Anthony Shiels and others at Christy and Moore, Ltd., and successor Anthony Sheil Associates Ltd./Sheil Land, both London, literary agents for Thomas Kilroy, regarding their agency for his novel The Big Chapel . Following unsuccessful submission of a previous novel, Fall from Grace, Smith gives extensive commentary on The Big Chapel; eventually securing Faber and Faber as publishers by April 1970 and managing publication, as well as later reprint by Poolbeg (1981). Including handwritten draft letter from Kilroy [1967] explaining the novel is intended to be the first of a trilogy "about a town at three different points in its modern history". Also containing letter from solicitors McCann, Fitzgerald, Roche and Dudley, Dublin, regarding the Faber contract.
