Envelope containing a [copy of a] letter from Peter Freyer, Moradabad, to the President, Council of Regency, Rampur, detailing his services to the State of Rampur from Aug 1888 to Dec 1892. He writes that he has applied for a year's leave from mid April and imagines that his medical connection with the state will shortly cease, so he asks the Council to consider the matter of his remuneration for services rendered over the previous 4 and a half years. He gives some history of his medical connection with the state including his treatment of the grandfather and father of the present Nawab of Rampur, which began in January 1887 and of the late General Azim Uddin Khan, Vice President of the Council. Since Aug 1888 he has been in continuous attendance on officials of the Rampur State and their families, except for 3 months in 1889 and 6 months in 1891 when he was on leave in Europe. He appends a list of his visits to Rampur, a distant of some 36 miles by road and details all the other advantages the State has received from him, for example advice on sanitation, dispensaries, jails and medical legal work. He hopes the Council, in consultation with the Government, will decide the amount of remuneration due to him from Feb 1889 to Dec 1892. Includes a statement showing the number of professional visits he made to Rampur from Aug 1888-Dec 1892, including consultation regarding a murder case on 17 Mar 1892 and to give evidence in state trials in the following months.
