Two typed drafts of the table of contents, and of the following chapters:

Five typed drafts with handwritten edits of the Preface (the last draft is dated July 2005); four typed drafts of 'Scailp' (5 Mar 2003-30 Apr 2003); 'To the Dead Man's Grave' (13 Mar 2003); 'To the Halfway House' (13 Mar 2003); four typed drafts with handwritten edits of 'Superincumbent Intellect' (Mar 2003-1 Apr 2003); 'Errisbeg', which became 'Climbing Errisbeg' in the published version (18 Apr 2003); 'Murvey, with a note on Costa del Sod' (undated); 'Ogygia Lost' (Oct 2003); 'Summer Holiday Island', which became 'Holiday Island' in the published version (10 Jul 2004); 'The Neighbourhood' which was not in the published version (2 May 2004).

Four drafts of 'Famine' which became 'The Cold of Charity' in the published version (the latter two drafts are dated Oct 2004); 'Addendum: The Life and Death of a Robinson', part of 'The Robinson Era' in the published version (Jul 2004); four drafts of 'Inis Ní', which became 'Inis Ní in Winter' in the published version (12 Dec 2003-22 Feb 2004); two drafts of 'Cashel' which became 'Tales to Lengthen the Road' in the published version (the 2nd draft is dated 4 Mar 2004); '[Roundstone History]' which became 'Smugglers and Asylum Seekers' in the published version (undated); 'Crossing the Bog', which was later integrated into the chapter 'Scailp' (undated); 'Slime' which does not appear to have been included in the published version, but tells of the discovery of a slime mould by a visit to Connemara of the Mires Research Group in 1997; draft Bibliography (undated).
