Joseph B. Wade, great-grandson of William Dwyer, deposited copies of the Dwyer Letters in the William Henry Smith Memorial Library, Indiana Historical Society, Indianapolis, in May 1965. The society later provided copies to Kerby A. Miller from which he created the transcripts.

Materials pertaining to two Dwyer family letters, one from Charles Dwyer in Savannah, Georgia to his father William Dwyer in St Louis, Missouri (1853), and one from William Dwyer to his daughter-in-law Anne Faussett Dwyer in Mount Pleasant, Indiana (1855). The series includes typed transcripts of the letters, photocopies of the original letters, and a description of the original, larger collection from which they came at the Indiana Historical Society.
