Extracts from the diary of Dr James Donnelly, later Bishop of Clogher, written during an 1854 fundraising tour of the United States. In 1851, Donnelly was selected by the Irish bishops to collect money in America for the Catholic University.
The series includes Kerby A. Miller’s extracts from the diary pertaining to Irish Americans, and a copy of Duffy, Joseph, ed. (1975), ‘American Journal of James Donnelly’, in Clogher Record Album: A Diocesan History (Enniskillen: Cumann Seanchais Chlochair, pp. 109-159) which contains a transcript of the diary.
