This file consists of material relating to the hearing of David Norris (DN) case in European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and subsequent judgement. It includes Council for Europe booklet on "Revised Rules of Court", Strasbourg, 1983; copy of seating plan of judges, delegates, Counsel and others at hearing in ECHR, 25/04/1988; 2 copies of typed transcript of Legal Submissions on behalf of DN presented by Mary Robinson (MR) as S.C. [Senior Counsel] at oral hearing, ECHR, [25/04/1988]; official ECHR copy of the Verbatim Record of the public hearing, morning and evening 25/04/1988 with cover letter to MR from Marc-André Eissen, Registrar 02/05/1988 and copy of response from Ann Lane on MR's behalf, 27/06/1988; official stamped copy of ECHR judgement of DN case in French, with photocopy of English translation, and copy in English also sent by fax from Eissen to MR, 26/10/1988; photocopy and fax of "Dissenting Opinion of Judge Valticos in which Judges Goluku, Matscher, Walsh [Irish judge], Bernhardt and Carrillo Salcedo agreed", 26/10/1988.
