Ann Barry, archivist/secretary for the Cork Archives Council, provided transcripts of these letters to Kerby A. Miller on 22 February 1978. Barry received her copy of the letter from the manuscript's owner, Mrs. B. McGrath of Blackrock, Dublin, from which Barry created her own transcript for deposition with the Cork Archives Council [now Cork City and County Archives, reference number U128]. Miller then annotated Barry's transcript.

Transcripts of four letters sent between 1802 and 1873 by members of the Quinlan family from County Cork, including Dan Quinlan and John Quinlan. Dan Quinlan writes from Baltimore, where he is looking for work, while John Quinlan writes from Chicago where he is working in a railyard. Also included is a copy of the letter of donation from Ann Barry. Reference copies of the John Quinlan letters and the original letter of donation are located in P155/62/11.
