Scope and content
Copy of letter to John McGahern from Faber and Faber relating to the publication of 'John Butler Yeats Letters To His Son W.B. Yeats And Others 1869 - 1922' edited by Joseph Hone, abridged and with an introduction by John McGahern, letter is simply signed 'John'. In the letter the writer from Faber and Faber address the issue of copyright, suggesting that the Yeats Estate own the rights for 70 years from the original publication in 1944, the writer also suggests that reference should be made in the publishers note to William Michael Murphy 1978 biography ' Prodigal Father: Life of John Butler Yeats, 1839-1922' , on the basis that Murphy disputes some of Hone's transcripts of some of John Butler Yeats' letters. Enclosed with the letter are the suggested title page and draft 'blurb'.
