Copies of two letters written to members of the Arbuthnot family who emigrated from County Down to Pittsburgh. The first letter was sent to Margaret Arbuthnot in 1855 and is written using crosswriting; a transcript is attached. The second letter was written by Margaret's cousin Alexander to his son Charles in Pittsburgh. Both letters send news of friends and family. Also included is correspondence from the letter donor.
