Correspondence mainly to President Mary Robinson (MR) from Peter Ryan (PR), Secretary to the President, including memo relating to the European Media Award, and the need for communication to go through the Ambassador to the Netherlands and not through Andrew Sheppard, and for the Taoiseach's Department to be informed, 08/01/1992; correspondence, including from Frank Murray [Assistant Secretary to the Government] and Bride Rosney, Special Adviser to the President, to PR, from GSG Beveridge, Vice-Chancellor, Queen's University Belfas (QUB) to MR, and including photocopy of press release from the Fair Employment Agency For Northern Ireland (20/12/1989) re honorary degree from QUB being awarded to MR and recommendation to hold off accepting it until issue of Fair Employment Tribunal was resolved 17/12/1991-21/01/1992; material relating to the resignation of Taoiseach Charles J Haughey (10/02/1992) and the subsequent appointment of Albert Reynolds (11/02/1992) including memos relating to protocols and photocalls, memo from MR on her final meeting with Haughey as Taoiseach on 10/02/1992, which MR noted "was the most friendly meeting [they] had had", and briefing note for meeting with new Taoiseach Albert Reynolds, 04-11/02/1992; typed notes from PR to MR in relation to report that the prominent role given to Quintin Oliver during MR's visit to Belfast had caused "ripples" with the British authorities, 13/02/1992; photocopy of fax listing new Ministers of Government, 13/02/1992; photocopy of faxed text of Taoiseach Albert Reynold's statement in Dáil Éireann on 18/02/1992 in relation to the X Case [a constitutional case on whether a 14-year-old who had become pregnant as a result of rape could access abortion (the Attorney General, Harry Whelehan, had refused to allow the pregnant girl to travel to the United Kingdom for an abortion)].
