On 17 July 2001, the European Court of Human Rights ruled that there had been multiple violations of Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights. The Turkish Government were ordered to pay the four applicants $100,000 US in non-pecuniary damages and $10,000 US in legal costs and expenses.
