TitleLetter from Seán Ó Ruadháin to An Athair Mhic an Mhilidh
DescriptionLetter from S[eán] Ó R[uadháin], 5 Victoria Villas, Charlemont Rd., Clontarf, Dublin, to An tAthair Mhic an Mheidh, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, stating that he has corrected the odd word here and there, and comments that some of the sentences will have to be re-written. He finds it amusing to note that an article criticising the Munster Dialect should employ the Munster idioms. He translates one line as meaning "if every teacher in the province gave birth to a pound or ten shillings & c.", and urges "For goodness sake don't let it come out like that". He asks him for a shorter letter to place before the committee and that he would explain them. "Some of the members of the committee have given long years of devoted service to the language without any benefit to themselves and I'm sure they'd resent very much some of the statements contained in your letters".
